Insights is a series of conversations with leaders throughout the New Zealand economy about health and safety. Insights is a medium for thought leadership on health and safety and it is designed to stimulate and challenge. As the health and safety regulator, we want to broaden thinking, and action, beyond ‘compliance’ and the immediate, daily, operational focus of businesses and workers around the country.

These conversations, hosted by our Chief Executive Nicole Rosie, will occur every two months. The latest edition features Nicole talking to Stacey Shortall from MinterEllisonRuddWatts to get a lawyer’s perspective on leadership in health and safety.

In this edition Nicole talks to Adrian Orr from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand about the relationship between financial investment and health and safety.

In this edition Nicole talks to Quinton Hall from Ngāi Tahu Tourism about the values of manaakitanga and rangatiratanga and how these are fundamental to the way they run their business, and especially their health and safety.

In this edition Nicole talks to Mai Chen, Chair of the Superdiversity Centre, about the challenges of health and safety in New Zealand’s increasingly diverse workforce.

In the first edition Nicole talked with Peter Chrisp, the Chief Executive of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.  Peter is passionate about New Zealand, its future, and about health and safety.
