The Home Time campaign is built around WorkSafe’s vision – that everyone who goes to work comes home healthy and safe. It is designed to raise awareness about health and safety, and challenge Kiwis to make our workplaces safer and healthier for everyone.

Why do we need to talk about health and safety?
Last year, thousands of people were injured and dozens killed in New Zealand workplaces. The time has come for us all to talk about it.
New Zealand is a great place to live, and to work. But where health and safety is concerned, there’s more work to do.
Kiwi workers are killed at a higher rate than those in Australia or the UK. That has a real cost, and none heavier than on a family that relies on a loved one.
For a country that’s always prided itself on looking out for one another…it’s time we did.
All New Zealanders who go to work every day, no matter industry they are in or job they do, should be able to return home healthy and safe. That’s what we’re working for.

Rachel is CEO of Kono NZ, a family-owned Māori food and beverage producer that employs over 400 staff. Rachel has spent over 20 years advocating for New Zealand’s world-class food and beverage industry.
Rachel has received numerous awards including a Sir Peter Blake Trust Leader Award, and was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the food and hospitality industry. She is deeply committed to New Zealand’s primary sector, sitting on several boards.
Alison is former CEO and current board member of New Zealand’s biggest food brands, and she has extensive experience in governance, leadership and marketing-led innovation. With over 20 years’ experience at major international FMCG firms including PepsiCo, Kimberley Clark, Watties and Goodman Fielder, Alison has played a key role in a number of notable business transformation initiatives in both the private and public sector.
Mike became CEO of Z Energy after 25 years with BP in a variety of downstream roles in New Zealand, China, South Africa, the UK and Singapore.
His last role was as CEO of BP’s Eastern Hemisphere supply and trading business.
Sir David Fagan
Sir David Fagan is a farmer and an international shearing champion with a successful competitive career spanning 33 years. Sir David has won a total of 642 open championships around the world, and been an individual World Champion five times and a World Team Champion seven times. He was the first shearer to shear more than 800 lambs and more than 700 ewes in a nine-hour working day under World Record rules.
David was knighted in the 2016 New Years’ Honours for his services to shearing.
